About Us

A little bit about us

I’m Lisa, originally from France, now based in Leeds.

Since moving to Leeds in 2012, I have always loved the ideal balance between city life and green spaces and its kind-hearted people.

No. 19 was my family home for 10 years before I transitioned it into a house for guests. I decided to keep its original spirit intact. It’s not a staged holiday property, but a real home, shaped slowly over time.

Sustainability is part of how I live day to day, and it’s reflected throughout the house. You’ll find refillable toiletries, low-impact cleaning products, composting, and considered design choices. I avoid buying new where possible, but without compromising on quality or aesthetics. Where new items are used, such as bedding, I choose sustainable materials.

I’m particularly interested in slow design. The decor wasn’t created overnight. It’s the result of years of collecting vintage furniture, artwork and objects, allowing the house to evolve naturally and reveal its personality rather than forcing a finished look.

You’ll also find plenty of houseplants throughout the rooms. Most have been here for years and I simply decided to leave them in the spot where they were happy!

I take particular pride in the front garden. When I bought the house, the front was entirely tarmacked. We removed it entirely and replanted it from scratch. It’s now a small but active green space that supports insects and local wildlife.

As a single parent of three, hosting this home is how I support my family. This is my work and I aim to do so with genuine care for both my guests and the planet.

I live just down the street, so I’m nearby if needed, but otherwise I leave guests to enjoy the space in their own way.

Being French with Italian and Colombian roots, I’m fluent in several languages. I’m always happy to interact with my guests in French, Italian, Spanish, or English!
